KARL JENKINS & CAROL BARRATT to accompany St Albans Chamber Choir
-
For the last concert of this anniversary season on Saturday
4 July 2009, the St
Albans Chamber Choir will be performing for the
first time in many years in St Peter’s Church, St Albans, with a
wide-ranging programme of music from different periods that turns to the
natural world for inspiration.
A Parliament of Owls was composed by Karl Jenkins to a text by
his wife, Carol Barratt, who is also a noted composer, particularly of piano
music for education. We are very privileged that both Karl Jenkins and Carol
Barratt will not only attend the concert, but also accompany the choir in
this performance as piano duettists.

- David
Hansell's farewell party
- A farewell party was held in June to express the choir's appreciation of
10 years of very enjoyable music making with David Hansell. We thanked him
for all his hard work, for raising our standards, and for the very high
level of musicianship he had demonstrated introducing us to new and exciting
repertoire both ancient and modern. We wished him every success in the
future.
